So, the last few weeks have been quite the whirlwind of events…from students leaving to parents coming, from going on a Uganda safari to enjoying the holiday. Barely any time to stop, but it’s been good.
So, I hope all of your holidays were full of joy and family. I am blessed to say that mine was/is. And, instead using lots of words this time, I figure pictures should tell the story:
Our safari started with a trip from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest conservation area in Uganda. Home to incredible wildlife, the park is one of the best place in Africa to go game viewing in Africa. From four of the big five to primates in Kaniyo Pabidi and Budongo Forest, the park is one of the best parks to enjoy a true African safari.
At Murchison Falls National Park (located in Northwestern Uganda), we went on Safari. Here we are on the lookout for all sorts of critters from the top of our land cruiser…
On our safari through the park, my favorite were the giraffes (they’re so majestic looking), and we saw tons of them…also elephants, hippos, buffalo, hartebeests, kobs, and more… oh, and a lion!! (she slipped into the bush before we could get snaps.)
We also enjoyed photography from the top of Murchison Falls (there was a huge falls in the park that we got to enjoy at the end of our trip)
Back in Kampala after our safari, we took a visit to various tourist sites in Kampala, the capital of Uganda and Jinja the adventure capital of Uganda. Within Kampala, there are several sights including Kasubi Tombs, Wamala Tombs, Naggalabi Buddo Coronation site, the Uganda Museum, Ndere Center etc. In Jinja, we visited the Source of the Nile, Bujjagali Falls, and the best of all white water rafting along the Mighty River Nile. On our way back, we got to experience what is called the “Market Day” in Mukono and all its chaos.
