The park of colorful diversity Queen Elizabeth Park is characterized by stunning range of mountain back drop that have earned it a title of the most eye catching point of the mountain of the moon. Queen Elizabeth is also the most close wildlife pare to Bwindi forest  the great gorilla tracking paradise in Uganda and a home to the people of the forest famously known as the Batwa.

Most visitors to Bwindi Forest on gorilla tracking tours make stops in the park to see series of impressive wildlife, lakes, birds, plant life and primates before experiencing the life changing encounter of mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest. A trip to Queen Elizabeth is unforgettable especially if combined with a visit to Bwindi forest national park. If backpacking through Uganda would advise you to travel with a local friend from Uganda or guide  who have spend some good time working and exploring the pearl of Africa. There is a lot to do in Queen Elizabeth national park after landing in Entebbe international airport and get picked by your trip organizer or rent a car to drive to the park by you. You will need to use a safari van with a pop up in order to enjoy the morning and afternoon game drives through the park. Plan for a six hour drive from Uganda’s capital to the parks gate or lodge of residence. Besides you need to leave the city quite early in order to be at the park in the late afternoon for some evening sightseeing. Once you arrive at your lodge, settle down, freshen up and then head out to the park for some evening fun. The sunset game drive is too incredible a good timing to spot most park wildlife, birds even the sunset itself in many park corners. During this ride elephants are never missed together with other wildlife. Three days are just enough for one to explore the park wildlife, primates and all other adventures. Also multiple animals can be spotted on a fresh morning starting at 6.00am after a morning cup of tea. In most cases many are found just outside your lodge compound before even entering park game viewing area.

It’s hard to tell how exciting it feels to spot your favorite wildlife in unexpected manner. Afternoons again is more joyful during the launch cruise on the Kazinga channel looking at the hippo concentration, birds and other wildlife at the river bank. However, the most satisfying moment is when you spot leopards and lions in the wilderness as they make moves to a wonderful fatty meal for the day.  A lot can be spotted and seen but each sighting is different. Buffaloes roam around the plains, colorful kobs sunbath in the short grass vegetation, a group of baboons sear at you and even welcome you to their  calm hospitable home, chimpanzees keep chasing wind in the drama of playing with the little ones, birds are guests in every angle even in times for meals, lions chill up in  tree branches waiting for whoever  enters their territory   among others. All days in Queen Elizabeth National park consist of  game drives, launch cruise to sunset, chimpanzee treks, forest walks to Maramagambo forest, balloon safari ride in the park. However, never had car snacks during any park activity but all meals where had at the lodge of residence.
