Skinnymarinky dinky doo – Memories of the Great-Trans African Safari with Laurina and her safari group! PART 2…

30 10 2008

Finally… here is part 2 of the Great Trans African Safari (that Laurina took a group of safari travellers around on)… we are sure that you have been eagerly awaiting to read the second part of this holiday adventure and here it is! This takes you from day 12 until the very end… Most of you are also probably wondering about the song – well you did read a bit about it in the prior blog (part 1)… But did you know that this song has a great deal of sentimental value to Laurina? This all came from the last day of the tour. Laurina dropped them all off at the airport and as they were all saying their goodbyes they started singing ‘Skinnymarinky dinky doo – we love you!’ to Laurina. Needless to say she was in tears and loved it! And that is the sole reason for the name of the blog… So Skinnymarinky dinky doo, Skinnymarinky doo… la la la la…

Skinnymarinky dinky doo – Memories of the Great-Trans African Safari with Laurina and her safari group! PART 1…

27 10 2008

Almost 1 year ago to the day, Laurina (one of our sales consultants/tour guide) took a fabulous group of travellers on safari – on the Great-Trans African Safari … which took them all around Namibia, Botswana and Zambia on a 22 day adventure. Down the line, this group decided to email Laurina day-by-day accounts of their safari – exactly one year ago to the day it turned out to be! You may be asking why the title has ‘Skinnymarinky dinky doo’ in it…. Well you will read about some of it in this blog – but read Part 2 to find out why this song is so special to Laurina!

Read their email snippets of their holiay safari with Laurina!

Our Jenman African Safaris’ guide goes swimming in the Zambezi with the hippos… WHOOPS!

24 10 2008

On Wednesday 13 August a whole bunch of guides (which included Chantal – one of our treasured Jenman African Safari guides!) went fishing near Livingstone in Zambia…. Here is what she had to say: “Gerard the owner of Zambezi fishing was kind enough to arrange a small fishing trip for seven of us free of charge! He would have joined us that day but due to his lack of an ability to deal with a severe hangover from the night before he decided to stay on dry land. So, that meant 6 of us where off to fish on the Zambezi – well fishing was the goal of the day… however…..

Jenman Tigers Rooooaaaar themselves to victory!

22 10 2008

Only 4 weeks into our Jenman team thing, we continue to astound ourselves by thrashing our opponents.  Last week we won 27-7, after a looong wait for a late late game.

Here’s how it happened…………….

Since the game was only at 20h50, we all made the joint decision not to work in the office until it was time to play (look, we love our jobs, but felt it important to rest the brain cells, ready for a tactical game… )

We were published in the October Issue in the Getaway Magazine!!!!

16 10 2008

Two Clients of ours went on our Botswana Breakaway Safari which they enjoyed to the fullest – you may have read their blog last month about their holiday. However, on their return through OR Tambo International Airport they had an unpleasant situation. Read about what they wrote to the Getaway Magazine which was published in the October issue.

My wife Irene and I arrived home after a splendid safari holiday in Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. The tour operator was Jenmans, a company I cannot praise highly enough. They took care of us and, even after our tour, continued to treat us as clients. The safari was great, but the four extra nights in Zambia and Johannesburg were another experience.

Our Clients love our Safari Vehicles…

14 10 2008

We couldn’t resist showing you this picture of one of our clients hugging our safari vehicle! Why is he hugging it you may ask…? Well, it’s because all our vehicles are brilliantly designed and maintained with our own exceptionally high standards – meaning that you are guaranteed to have a ‘true’ safari experience in one of our 4×4 land cruisers! And judging from this picture our client was having the time of his life!

We have many clients sign up on a African Safari tour and ‘pray’ that the tour that they signed up for uses one of our 4×4’s… Clearly there is more to our vehicles then meets the eye. We have a variety of Vehicles that we use – but, our 4×4 Land Cruisers are the ones on demand!

Sea-Kayaking in Hermanus with the Whales!

10 10 2008

A while back we celebrated my stepson’s 13th birthday and my hubby and I were racking our brains on what to give him as a gift…  Every year it gets more difficult!  I’d just finished working on the activities section of our Cape Town Safaris site and came across a supplier in Hermanus, who offers sea kayaking trips to get up close and personal with the whales, so we decided to give Kye (my stepson) a trip as a birthday gift.  As these trips are quite popular we only managed to get a booking on the first weekend in October.

Cape Point Nature Reserve – The perfect place for a half-day holiday!

8 10 2008

Not so long ago my boyfriend and I decided to go to the Cape Point Nature Reserve… We had such an awesome time that I decided that I must share it with all of you!

Firstly, let me start by pointing out the fact that we normally end up spending our time in shopping malls buying clothes and eating at restaurants … so for us to decide to go to there… is clearly something out of the ordinary! And what a wonderful day we had – was the perfect place to feel like we were on holiday (even if it was just for one day only)…
