In my many years of travel, never have I seen a location more breathtaking than Tsarabanjina.

Truly, no coastline, no game reserve, no island can compare in natural, outstanding beauty and tranquility.

Madagascar Fam Trip with Debby!

Day 1
Counting the ‘sleeps’ had finally hit zero – here we were… at the Air Madagascar check-in counter, O.R.Tambo International, eagerly anticipating the hot, sunny skies and sparkling, blue ocean that was waiting for us! We had all just met at the Mugg & Bean and already felt as though we knew each other after all the excited emails. Ken and Jan (from SA), Alicia (from Aus), Marco (from Germany), Leslie (from SA), Suzy (from USA), Louise (from Nam), Liz (from Zim) and yours truly, Debz of Jenman African Safaris, were the intrepid travellers about to experience a destination that was completely new to us.

Absolutely fantastic trip. Most enjoyed.

Air Madagascar managed to lose my fishing rods and Evan’s stands and tripod, but otherwise the flights were fine – empty and comfortable.

The hotel in Tanna was classic – very comfortable (hot water etc.). The father and son blues guitarists were world class.

My Madagascar Educational around the National Parks!

Departing from Cape Town, we headed to Johannesburg to connect to the Air Madagascar flight to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, we were transferred to our hotel in Antananarivo.

We checked in and had a cup of Jasmine Tea and went straight to bed. The next morning, we met our tour group and embarked on a tour of the city of a hundred warriors!

Pirates of the Caribbean… find your own treasures in Madagascar!

Have you dreamt about being a pirate in search of a fabulous treasure buried somewhere deep under a palm tree on a tropical island? Sounds a bit like something from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, doesn’t it?

Interestingly, pirates always bury their hidden treasures in the most magical places – lost in topical jungles or deep in clear water creeks…

Getting married in Madagascar

The Malagasy people have some very unique traditions and customs one being getting married. Its tradition for children to live at home until they get married (or want to move out) because the families always have very strong bonds… and it doesn’t matter what the age is when they move out…. One of the more unique Malagasy traditions revolves around “engagement and marriage”.
